My son and I installed the new parts. We struggled like hell because the instructions were not very user friendly. New motherboard did fix the problem though.

With minimal effort and a little friendly guidance from the Techs at Northland Marine, my Minn Kota Maxxum is up and running like a champ again. This upgrade worked perfectly to replace my 23 year old control board (part #226-4008)! Ready to go fishing!

It was a very expensive upgrade coming in right at $300 because I also purchased a new set of steering cables to go with this upgrade kit. However, when your trolling motor is still functioning properly and correctly.... it's still cheaper than buying a newer trolling motor that's a 24/36 volt style. The hardest thing was knocking out the the metal rod that allows foot pedal to pivot. There was not directions or guidance on how to do this included. I just took an old Phillips screwdriver grind it down flat and used it as a punch to knock it out. I hope this helps someone.

I had never worked on a trolling motor before, My vibrable speed switch broke and i had an analog trolling motor. I called and spoke with a very helpful person that hooked me up with the conversion control board and what was needed to do the swap.. It came in it had everything you needed for the conversion simple and quick. The instructions were very easy to understand. Good people and good service.

The installation was pretty easy and fixed my problem of the motor running all the time at high speed. I can’t speak for longevity since I just installed it. The only con is the instructions. The pictures are almost useless since they are black and white.

Original Part was shipped in a timely manner but was lost by Fedex. I contacted Jason Kral
Sales and Parts Manager by email and he put a trace with no results, He then shipped me another one USPS which came in before I was going fishing...Just wanted to thank him for a job well done.

Very pleased with the control board kit. Complete and easy to install. Less pleased with the phone call from fedex requiring me to pay an additional 53$, on top of the 81$ that i paid at time of purchase, to complete the delivery. Makes for extremely expensive transport.
